Meet Tyler Freebery, a Technical Support Associate II at tru Independence!

If you have ever needed help with your tech at tru then you have probably worked with Tyler and know that he is your guy when it comes to system integration and best practices with any system. Joining tru Independence in May 2023, Tyler has leveraged his technical knowledge and conversational skills to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.

Tyler's studied at Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences and Technologies. With a focus on Design and Development, Tyler's interest in IT grew, eventually shifting to integration, where he found his niche. His technical understanding of how systems work has been invaluable in his current role.

Known by his fellow coworkers for his ability to "talk the paint off the wall," Tyler's conversational skills enable him to understand what is needed in a situation by gathering a full picture and going the extra mile in providing the best solution. "Being able to talk to clients and understand their technology use is essential in providing the best support," he says.

Tyler's motivation and productivity during challenging times come from the supportive environment at tru Independence. The collaborative culture and willingness to take a step back and look at things from different perspectives have been vital in overcoming challenges.

"tru is the first company I've worked at where I feel like I truly have a team that supports each other. At tru we're all problem solvers at heart, and having a team that has my back makes all the difference," Tyler said.

Tyler has a variety of hobbies and interests. A passionate Dungeons & Dragons player, collecting sports cards, particularly football and baseball, but over all of that he focuses on spending time with family and friends. He attends as many concerts as possible, with a wide range of musical tastes from metal and rock to indie and country, you can almost always guarantee he is planning his next concert. With so many passions he has helped cultivate the growing positive culture at tru with his love of sports and has taken over much of the fantasy sports leagues at tru Independence.

Much of his drive can be embodied from Jason Kelce's speech about underdogs after the Eagles won the Super Bowl where he says “an underdog is a hungry dog… a hungry dog is a fast dog" this resonated deeply with him and you can this drive in everything Tyler does. tru is lucky to have such a talented and driven person on the team!
